Consultation has concluded

This is a unique opportunity to identify and discuss the current lived experiences of Campbelltown young people. The aim of the Youth "Ideas, Innovation, Action" forum is to gather young people’s ideas, initiatives, thoughts and opinions surrounding six key priority areas identified through the stage one consultation. This forum will provide an opportunity for local youth and student representatives from local high schools, TAFEs and University to come together to discuss, brainstorm and learn from each other to create opportunities for change in service delivery and programming across our LGA. The following key topics have been selected for discussion;

OPPORTUNITIES - Young people have access to significant, local skill building and employment opportunities

CONNECTION - Young people have a sense of connection and belonging to space, their peers and the wider community

SAFETY - Young people have a say in community safety measures and feel safer in Campbelltown City LGA

WELLBEING - Young people have access to information and supports available for mental and physical wellbeing

VOICE - Young people’s opinions and perspectives are sought, valued and heard

SUSTAINABILTY – Young people play a role in environmental practices and principals that contribute towards a more sustainable Campbelltown LGA

This forum will provide an opportunity for local youth representatives to come together to discuss, brainstorm and learn from each other, in order to create a link between young people and Campbelltown City Council.

The forum will be held on the 28th June 2023 at the Civic Centre

A basic outline for the day is as follows:

- 9.20am Sign in

- 9.30– 11.10 Guest speakers and panel sessions (this will be broken up into allocated presentation timeslots or a panel Q&A)

- 11.11- 12.10 Brainstorm/discussion session for Youth Strategy

- 12.11 - 12.40 Lunch

- 12.41 - 1.40 Presentations by young people back to the Mayor and Council’s Youth Advisory Committee

- 1.40 – 2.00 Wrap up of the day and how these ideas can be implemented in your community
