Consultation has concluded
Council at its meeting on 12 October 2021, resolved to exhibit Draft Amendment No 14 to the Campbelltown (Sustainable City) Development Control Plan 2015 (the draft Plan) in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and the related Regulation.
The draft plan proposes to introduce new guidelines and controls which facilitate designing development in a manner that protects local koala population and minimises any impact on their habitats.
You can view the draft Plan from Wednesday 3 November through to Friday 3 December 2021 here or at our Civic Centre.

Amendment 16 - Koala sensitive development on lots less than 1 hectare
At its meeting on 12 April 2022, Council considered a report to amend the Campbelltown (Sustainable City) Development Control Plan 2015, to create design requirements for developments in koala habitat on lots less than 1 hectare.
Following consideration of the report, Council resolved as follows:
That Council adopt the Amendment to the Campbelltown (Sustainable City) Development Control Plan 2015 shown at attachment 1.
That upon Council’s adoption, the amendment be published on Council’s website and take effect from the date of publication.
That Save Sydney Koalas be advised of Council’s decision and the changes made in response to their submission.
Amendment No 14 to Campbelltown (Sustainable City) Development Control Plan 2015 – Koala Sympathetic Development was exhibited to the public from 27 October 2021 through to 26 November 2021.
Please note that the amendment number has been changed to amendment 16 as amendment 14 has already been used.
In accordance with point 2 of Council’s resolution, notice is hereby given that the amended plan will come into effect on 26 April 2022, in accordance with clause 14 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021.
