Planning Proposal on Exhibition – Appin and North Appin Precincts
Consultation has concluded
Public Exhibition – North Appin Precinct and Appin (Part) Precinct
The NSW Government has placed the following state led proposals /plans on public exhibition until 6 October 2025:
1. North Appin Precinct
Ingham Property Group has prepared a Planning Proposal, Draft Structure Plan and Draft Development Control Plan (DCP) for land at 345 Appin Road, Appin (Planning Proposal Reference: PP-2023-1802).
Most of the site is located in Wollondilly Shire, with a smaller portion in the Campbelltown LGA. The proposal includes around 3,000 new homes, a local centre and a primary school in Wollondilly. No housing is proposed in the Campbelltown LGA, where the land is intended for environmental conservation.
2. Appin (Part) Precinct
Walker Corporation has prepared a Draft Structure Plan and Draft DCP for the Appin (Part) Precinct. A rezoning of this land was finalised in 2023. A small portion within the Campbelltown LGA is zoned C2 Environmental Conservation under the SEPP (Western Parkland City) 2021.
The precinct could accommodate up to 12,900 new homes, including affordable housing, as well as new open spaces and local centres (within Wollondilly LGA). No housing is proposed in the Campbelltown LGA.
The Department has been appointed as the Relevant Planning Authority and will answer enquires, assess submissions, and make the final decision.
- Exhibition period: Monday 8 September to Monday 6 October.
Any comments, submissions and questions must be directed to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure by Monday, 6 October 2025 (more information from the below link)
