Consultation has concluded
Improving Queen Street
In response to what we’ve heard from our community over the past few years, we’re testing and trialling some ideas to help revitalise Queen Street. This project supports our residents and businesses by making Queen Street a place that people want to visit, relax and enjoy.
What we are doing
Holding regular events in the Lithgow Street Mall civic plaza area that adjoins Queen Street.
Trialling some temporary park-style areas that include grass, trees and seating for people to use to dine, relax and enjoy.
Adjusted parking to be parallel along Queen Street. We’ve kept all the parking for people with disability and loading zones for commercial access.
Added more art works in places along the street to increase the vibrancy and places for people to interact along the street.
Funding
This project is funded by the NSW State Government under the Streets as Shared Spaces program.
When
September 2020 to September 2021
