Consultation has concluded

Council invites comments on a draft amendment to Part 16 (Macarthur Gardens North) Development Control Plan (the draft DCP) which applies to the Macarthur Gardens North Precinct, located at Goldsmith Avenue, Campbelltown (Lot 1097 in DP1182558) .

The primary objective of the draft DCP is to amend Part 16 Macarthur Gardens North DCP to align it with the state-led Planning Proposal that applies to the Macarthur Gardens North Precinct. The Planning Proposal is currently on public exhibition on the NSW Planning Portal (https://pp.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/ppr/under-exhibition/macarthur-gardens-north). The amendment to the Campbelltown Local Environmental Plan 2015 (CLEP 2015) includes:

  • Increasing building heights from 9 to 24 storeys in the southern areas
  • Increasing site capacity from 1,250 to approximately 1,625 homes (375 additional homes)
  • Allocating 10% of homes for affordable housing
  • Rezoning land along the Bow Bowing Creek reserve to RE1 Public Recreation and removing the provision for maximum building heights in these areas.

Any comments/submissions related to the Planning Proposal should be directed to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (the Department) by Monday, 7 April 2025. The Draft Part 16 Macarthur Gardens North DCP is on public exhibition from Wednesday, 19 March 2025 to Friday, 18 April 2025.

All submissions are public documents and will be considered in a final report to Council.

    Council, at its meeting held on Tuesday 10 June 2025, adopted an amended site-specific Development Control Plan for Macarthur Gardens North, which will replace the current Volume 2, Part 16 – Macarthur Gardens North Development Control Plan.

    The Plan will come into effect on the same date as the gazettal of the amendments to the Campbelltown Local Environmental Plan (CLEP) 2015, relating to the Macarthur Gardens North Planning Proposal, which is currently being assessed by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, in accordance with Section 14(2) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021.
