Artist Exchange opened at Campbelltown Arts Centre

Residents can now pick up an expansive range of Macarthur-made artwork and gifts at the Campbelltown Arts Centre’s new gallery shop, Artist Exchange.

The store opened today and includes a range of ceramics, jewellery, woven pieces and unique gifting for any occasion.

The arts centre foyer has been redesigned so that the reception area is now closer to the entrance and the new shop incorporates the old reception space.

“The Campbelltown Arts Centre is a cultural hub for the region and a place where local artists are able to showcase their work,” Mayor George Brticevic said.

“This new shop will further support our local artists by providing another avenue to sell their amazing work while also enhancing the arts centre’s gallery shop,” Cr Brticevic said.

The name for the new gallery shop was picked in consultation with the community, who voted for Artist Exchange ahead of the other options.

“Thank you to everyone in our community who took part in the competition to help name the new shop,” Cr Brticevic said.

“Artist Exchange was among the most popular names on our shortlist while there were also some fantastic ideas for alternative names,” he said.

“We are excited to open this new shop to our community which will support our local artists and provide another way to showcase the strength of arts and culture in the Macarthur region,” said Michael Dagostino, Director of Campbelltown Arts Centre.

“This will further enhance the experience for people visiting the arts centre and I encourage everyone to come and see the new shop,” Mr Dagostino said.
