Background

Council invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified private market operators to deliver the weekly Handmade and Homegrown Market in Campbelltown between July 2024 and June 2025.

The Handmade and Homegrown Market in Campbelltown provides opportunities for local makers and growers to sell their goods and increase their reach across the community.

This market has been operating since March 2022 and has recently transitioned to a weekly market to increase weekly homegrown produce offerings in Campbelltown.

The Handmade and Homegrown Market is a placemaking activation linked with Council’s OnQ and Revitalise Queen Street Precinct projects which are focused on revitalising Campelltown’s CBD and bringing activation and vibrant changes to the area.

Market Details

The Handmade and Homegrown Market takes place on Lithgow Street and Carberry Lane, Campbelltown (Lithgow st between Moore Oxley Rd and Anzac Lane is closed during market times).

The market operates every Sunday throughout the year and will have minimal breaks (for e.g. markets may be on break over the Christmas/New Year period which can be negotiated with the successful operator).

The market operates from 8am-1pm with road closures in place from 5am-3pm.

Indicative Timeline

The below timeline is indicative only and may vary throughout the expression of interest process. Council reserves the right to amend the Indicative Timeline for any reason at its absolute discretion.

  • Expressions of Interest are open from Friday 17 May and will close at 11.59pm on Friday 31 May 2024.
  • Evaluation of Applications will take place week commencing Monday 3 June 2024.
  • Short listed applicants will be contacted for an interview/further discussion in week commencing Monday 3 June 2024.
  • Outcome of applications will be communicated to all applicants by Friday 7 June 2024.
  • Contract between Council and the successful applicant will be executed prior to end of June 2024.
  • Commencement of service and contract will take place from July 2024 with the successful operator operating the market weekly from Sunday 7 July 2024.

By completing this application, the applicant acknowledges that:

  1. This application does not guarantee successful appointment as operator for the Handmade and Homegrown market
  2. They are agreeing to the proposed timeline and scope of services outlined in this expression of interest form and Council has jurisdiction to alter these at any time.
  3. They are confirming that all details provided in their application are true and correct.
  4. They are consenting for Council to contact any representatives, contacts or references provided in this application.

Proposed Scope of Services

All applicants must acknowledge that they have reviewed and understand the scope of services document relating to this expression of interest, which can be found under the documents tab on the right hand side of this page.

Applicants are also required to prepare and include a proposal document in their application which demonstrates capability to deliver the scope outlined in this Scope of Services document.

This document will also inform the formal agreement entered into between Campbelltown City Council and the successful applicant.
