The intent of this flood study is to identify key flooding characteristics such as flood depths and speed across the study area, allowing us to confirm the location of flooding problems and identify where flood management measures may be introduced to reduce the impact of flooding on the community. It also supports emergency management and guides future development and re-development so that it is compatible with the flood risk and does not create additional flooding problems in the future.

Currently council is trying to re-form a Flood Risk Management Committee. The role of the committee is:

  • To review information prepared by the consultant
  • To discuss the options considering environmental, social and economic benefits as well potential to reduce flood risk
  • To make recommendations to Council regarding the outcomes of the study

Expression of Interest

Council is in the process of re-forming the committee and anticipating to hold meeting for discussion in the coming months. To effectively re-form the committee, council requires local representatives from Campbelltown southern catchments. This is your opportunity to give voice to your community and bring your local flood knowledge to the table.
