Consultation has concluded

We were lucky enough to spend some time with MD Shahidur Rahman from Fat Burgers and Grill, here is his story.

When did you start your business / how long have you been operating?

I opened Fat Burgers and Grill on 12 October 2020.

I am new to Campbelltown. I sold my previous business, a chicken and burger takeaway shop in Dural, to move to Campbelltown – it is a new start for me.

Why did you start your business?

I have been a chef for over 12 years. My passion is creating food for busy people that is not only convenient and quick, but also healthy.

Why did you choose to open in Campbelltown? What do you love about Campbelltown?

I chose Campbelltown for family reasons, my wife found a job in Campbelltown and because we wanted a city centre lifestyle.

I love that this is a progressive city. Living in Campbelltown is desirable for me and my family. The city centre is organised and centralised - it is easy to get around and there is everything available that you need.

Tell us about your business?

In 2008 I migrated from Bangladesh to Australia to create a better life for myself.

In my home country I studied a masters in accounting. I also worked and managed businesses in the food industry, before deciding I was ready to run my own business.

I always wanted to provide a cleaner, healthier option for burgers. This is what I have created with my business. I want to change the perception of burger chains.

We have plenty of menu options to choose from including salad bowls, grilled fish, vegan burgers, and haloumi wraps. Our BBQ meat options have less fat.

Our intent was to create mouth-watering burgers which are of high quality and value for money.

What is something special or unique about your business?

Everything is natural, not processed – we make it fresh, in-house. We are not your typical burger chain, I source fresh produce and we grind our own meat patties daily. We also make our own sauces and salad dressings - our Peri Peri sauce, in particular, is a favourite with our customers.

I have managed to source fresh products at a competitive price, cheaper than junk food - this means that I am able to offer a meal that is not only more tasty, but also healthier for you.

Signature menu item

The Big Fat Burger which has chorizo, beef rashers, beef patty, chicken schnitzel, fried egg and onion ring with our signature sauce with a choice of a mayo based or smokey based sauce.
