Campbelltown Library to move to new CBD location
Campbelltown’s library services are set to enter an exciting new era with the relocation of HJ Daley Library to Downtown Plaza, at the former Spotlight store on Queen Street.
The planned relocation will see all existing services and programs housed at the three-level Queen Street site from 2024.
Mayor George Greiss said the new CBD location was an opportunity to enhance existing library services while also taking advantage of a new space to trial ideas and programs that will benefit the community in the future.
“As our city grows, so has the demand for a library that can provide for the increased number of programs and resources required to service the modern Campbelltown community,” Cr Greiss said.
“We anticipate the library will attract 10,000 additional visitors to the city centre each month, creating significant economic uplift for surrounding businesses and building on projects such as On Q and our public art program to help realise the goals of the Reimagining Campbelltown City Centre Master Plan,” he said.
Work will start in the coming weeks to prepare the new site for the relocation.
